The remoteness and a specific people group that passes all of their family history, cultural traditions, and other information down through song initially drew me to this area of the country. They do not have a written language and are considered a "in the sticks" people group having little to no knowledge of the sustaining answer to life. This particular province is one of the poorest in the entire continent with a GDP of about $3600/per capita per year. Many of us make more than that per month. This people group is very much walking in darkness. They worship a host of demons and gods including the spirits of their villages, homes, and crops.
I left much of this leg of the trip unplanned. I did this on purpose that I might rely on the One who stands outside of time and has a much better perspective than I. Discernment and wisdom are high priorities.
Things to Ponder:
- What am I to do while here?
- How can I be stretched and do and say things with which I normally would not be comfortable?
- Why is this particular part of the country so poverty stricken?
- How can this part of the country be redeemed?
- With whom should I speak and how should I spend my time?

I find such a group fascinating, that they have no written language! I have heard of other peoples just like that. It is a challenge for such organization as Pioneer, who help those people develop a written language so that they can begin translating Books into a printed form for them! GREAT to hear from you and am excited for your adventures there!
